Our Vision

We envision ourselves as an encouraging community that nourishes spiritual growth for every believer rooted from the truths of Scripture.  We see this growth continually being cultivated through expectant prayer and a lifestyle of worship as we pursue an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ together.  This can only be realized through the Holy Spirit working in us using the unique gifts God has graciously given to each of us to teach and encourage each other to enthusiastically live out the Gospel.  As we build one another’s faith, we determine to walk in obedience to discover the opportunities God gives us to boldly share the Gospel to encourage others to pursue Jesus Christ.

Our Values

Biblical Truth

We test all things with the truth found in the Holy Bible, and know that every word In Scripture is God breathed and useful.

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.” -- 2 Timothy 3:16

Spiritual Growth

Through a relationship with Christ, we earnestly pursue spiritual maturity individually and as a body, until one day we are with Him and our sanctification is complete.

“. . .until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. 15 Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ.” -- Ephesians 4:13-15

Loving Discipleship

We serve each other and invest in relationships of accountability and love.

“By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.”

--1 John 3:16

Lifestyle of Worship

With a sincere heart, we submit our lives totally to Christ our King in all that we do.

“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect [will of God]” --Romans 12:1,2

Expectant Prayer

We bring everything to God, knowing that he hears us and grants us wisdom and power through His Holy Spirit.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” --Philippians 4:6-7

Engaged Evangelism

We live in a way that others see Christ in us, seeking opportunities to share the reason for our joy with our community and supporting the work of missions.

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” --Matthew 5:14-16

Our Beliefs

Word of God

We believe the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts; that it was written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21)

The Trinity

We believe there is only one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; they are distinct, yet equal in every way, actively involved in creation, providence and redemption.  (Deut. 6:4; Matthew 29:19; John 10:29-30; John 14:16-17; 2 Cor. 13:14; Colossians 1:15-20; Jude 20-21)

God The Father

We believe in God the Father, an infinite personal Spirit. God is sovereign, unchanging, perfect in holiness, grace, mercy, wisdom, power, and love. We believe that He concerns Himself in the affairs of humankind, that He hears and answers prayer.  (Isaiah 44:6-8; John 4:24; James 1:17-18)

God The Son: Jesus Christ

We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, who was foretold by the prophets, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary being fully God and fully man.  We believe in His sinless life, teachings, and miracles; that He made atonement for the sin of the world through His sacrificial death on the cross.  We believe in His bodily resurrection and ascension into heaven, where He intercedes for us as our Savior and Lord.  (Isaiah 7:14; 9:6; 53:4-5; John 1:14; 3:16-17; 5:22-23; Colossians 1:15-20; 1 Thessalonians 4:14-17)

God The Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit who was sent by the Father to convict the world of sin, righteousness, judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ.  We believe He indwells, teaches and guides each believer. (John 3:5-6; 14:16-17, 26; 16:13-14; Romans 8:26; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11; 2 Thessalonians 2:13)

Mankind

We believe that people were created in the image of God and their purpose is to worship and glorify God.  We believe that all people are sinners by nature and by choice, and are therefore separated from God and eternally condemned.  (Genesis 1:26-27; 2:16-17; 3:1-19; Psalm 51:5; Psalm 100:2-3; Isaiah 43:7; Romans 3:23; 5:12, 19; 6:23)

Salvation

We believe a person is saved from eternal condemnation by grace through their own personal faith in Jesus Christ.  Repentance is part of saving faith. When saved, the believer is cleansed by His blood, forgiven through His grace, born again by the Spirit, and becomes a child of God.  (John 1:12; 3:16; 20:31; 2 Corinthians 5:20-21; Eph. 1:3-7; 2:8-9; Titus 3:5-6; 1 Peter 3:18; 1 John 5:11-13)

The Church

The Church is the spiritual body of Christ, and Christ is the head of the Church.  The Church consists of all who have saving faith in Jesus Christ.  The local church exists to provide a community for believers to worship God, evangelize and make disciples and edify one another.  (Matt. 28:19-20; Acts 1:8; 2:42; Eph. 1:22-23; Colossians 1:18; 1 Peter 2:9-10)

Eternity Future

We believe in the personal, eminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.    We believe in the bodily resurrection of the saved and the lost, and the eternal existence of all people in either heaven or hell.  (Daniel 12:2; Matthew 24:31-46; Luke 16:19-31; John 3:17; 5:28, 29; John 14:3; Acts 1:11; I Cor. 15:51-58; 2 Cor. 5:10; I Thess. 4:13-18; Rev. 20:11-15)

Marriage & Sexuality

Our beliefs on marriage & sexuality are detailed in our companion document titled "Statement on Marriage & Sexuality".

Ordinances

We believe in Baptism by immersion after salvation for every believer.  Baptism is an obedient expression of a believer identifying with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection.  (Acts 2:41; 8:36-39; Rom. 6:4-5)

We believe in observing the Lord’s Supper as Christ commanded, in remembrance of Him, and that the elements represent the broken body and the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.  All who have saving faith in Jesus Christ are eligible to partake.  (Acts 2:41-42; 1 Cor. 11:23-28)
